Village support for Fairtrade grows

Saturday, April 30th, 2005

At the Annual Open Meeting of the Cherry Burton Fairtrade Group in April 2005 chairman, Rob Stanley, was able to report continuing support for Fairtrade: “Last Year (2004) over £3,000 was spent in our village on Fairtrade goods, thanks mainly to the Village Shop and the Church stall. The Wine Circle tasted Fairtrade wines, the School held an Africa evening with a strong Fairtrade message and there were stalls at the Village Show and Christmas lights event. There were even Fairtrade chocolates available at the Village Panto!”
